New Years Nails

In the spirit of the new year, I painted my nails to celebrate 2013. I started with a turquoise base, used my dark blue nail pen to write the numbers. The top coat was a silver sequined overcoat. To finish it off, I went over the numbers once more. The picture doesn't do it justice, but in person, they look pretty cool!

Christmas Marbled Nails

My nails before prefection...
My desk after doing my nails...
Since I went with the Christmas designs last week, I decided to stir it up an try the marble nails...literally. I expected it to be a bit messy, but I didn't expect it to the extend I got. For one, I got it all over my desk, and secondly, I got it all over my fingers...

Visit from a Friend :D

YEAH!! My best friend came to visit! Us being us, decided that we should do our nails. So...we tried out the new nail polish I got from KBShimmer. I got "Oh! Splat" and "Candy Cane Crush." Kelly went for Oh! Splat on her nails with a turquoise color on her ring finger. It is now one of my favorites & I haven't even used it on my own nails yet.. :D

Since my fingers are all Christmas-y, we decided to do my toes. The Candy Cane Crush was supposed to smell like peppermint. I wasn't very positive on this, but once dry, the polish smells delightful! Kelly, being a cosmologist, did a beautiful job on my toes (sorry for the bad photo, it was taken on my phone...).

Overall, it was a great visit from my best friend!

Holiday Nails

With the upcoming holidays, I figured I might as well start decorating my nails with Christmas spirit.

I found inspiration for these designs from pinterest. :D I used a variety of colors and used a needle for some of the details (such as Santa's belt and the tree). Also, I used the tape technique for the candy cane design(more on that later).
I'll try more holiday themed nails soon!
Happy Holidays!!

Candy Nails

With the candy craze, I thought it would be great to try the "candy nails." I started by applying a coat of nail polish and then dipped or sprinkled on the sprinkles. After allowing them to dry a bit, I applied a clear coat of nail polish.

I have to say that this is an adorable idea, and for a few hours, they look amazing. However, they did not last long...I awoke in the morning to a bed full of sprinkles. Plus, it is almost gone and not even 24 hours have past. With this being said, I recommend this nail design only if for a Halloween costume...

The Challenge Has Begun...

Well, today marks the start of my nail polish challenge. I will be trying all different types of nail polish designs and extremities. I have a list to the left with my planned challenges and if anyone thinks of cool ones, I'll add it to the list! I'm just trying to see all the possibilities of nail art, plus see if those pinterest ideas actually work...

Wish me good luck!
