Here Comes Baby!
As you may have noticed, I have not blogged recently. On September 2, 2013, I had my beautiful baby girl. Her name is Madeline Sue and she weighted a whopping 9lbs 5oz at 22in long! I plan to continue my fun nail designs soon, but have some I haven't posted yet, but will do soon.

WATERMELON!
I don't know about you, but I sure am loving all the things that come with summer time, especially the delicious fruits! Its kind of impossible for me to resist cantaloupe or watermelon...
My watermelon nails are super easy to do and are super cute (just not edible...).

Sleepover/Nail Party-Part 1
Since my favorite ladies came to town earlier this summer, we thought it would be great to have a sleepover like in the good ole days. I figured, why not? You are never to old to have a slumber party!
Anyways, after our usual feasting of the pizza and watching of our favorite movie, Eurotrip, we decided to do our nails. After all, Kelly is a cosmologist...

Oldie: Tape Scratch Board Nails
So, I was looking through my pictures and discovered some old pictures, from before I started this blog. One of my favorites are the tape nails that look like scratch board. This was my first time experimenting with tape designs and I was pretty pleased with the result!
I started off by just painting my nails with bright colors randomly. After letting those dry, I added strips of scotch tape and painted over them a layer of black. After drying, I peeled away the tape and had a cute set of nails to show off!

Festive Fourth Nails
In honor of the Fourth of July, I decided to decorate my nails in the traditional red, white and blue. I wasn't sure how my flags would turn out but have to say that I am pretty proud of myself!
I started with a white base coat, then added red stripes about 3/4 down my nail. Then I added a blue stripe. Lastly, I topped off with some white polka dots and I was all set!

FAVE: Oh Splat!
One of my absolute favorite nail polishes is KB Shimmer's Oh Splat! It is so unique, yet simple and fun. A few layers and I'm done and ready to go. Plus, who doesn't love the cute look of paint splatters without the hard work? Although it is a bit more expensive than I would like, I feel it is worth every penny.

May Flowers
In honor of May, I went with a flower theme. My favorite flower happens to be a daisy, so I decorated it all with daisies. For the most part, I like how the flowers turned out, but if I had more patience, it could have been better.
To create the flowers, I used a combo of q-tips and toothpicks. I found that the toothpicks were more time consuming, but I was able to add more detail with the toothpick than the q-tip.

Straw Circles
A long time ago, I found an idea to dip a straw end into nail polish and create circles on your nails. So, I tried it out for my birthday. Went a little crazy with colors and wish I would have stuck to three colors max...

April Showers...
With all the rain we have been getting lately, I felt inspired. I wanted to incorporate that into my nails(rather than just walking around with wet shoes!). The designs did not turn out like I wanted them, but they still look cute...

Easter Egg Nails
In honor of Easter, I decorated my nails like Easter eggs! It was pretty simple to do this, as I just dipped a toothpick in different colors to draw the lines... I think they turned out well, even with my shaky hands!

St. Patty's Nails
In celebration of St Patty's Day, I did my nails in green! I got a new pastel green from Hot Topic and could not get enough of it! Then, I decided to do shamrocks and pots of gold. However, I got a bit tired and lazy, so the rest turned out a little lame, but it is cute otherwise!

NP Remover Dispenser
I found a great idea off of pinterest (no surprise there, right?!?). Anyways the idea was to use an old soap dispenser, clean it out and use it for nail polish remover. I was thinking of doing a collage like the idea had, but decided to do my own thing instead...
Using it, it take a little getting used to. However, it makes my life soooooooooooo much easier. I had such a difficult time with remover, as I usually spill it all over myself! If you are clumsy like myself, I recommend doing this!

Feeling Orange-y
Well, I tried the netting look, but unfortunately I got so frustrated I gave up (don't worry, I plan to try again!). However, I was really feeling this orange color, so I decided to go with it. Then, I added polka dots, just using the end of the nail polish brush. They aren't perfect, but I think they are cute!

Crackle Hearts
I LOVE holidays. As soon as February hit, I was making heart shaped food, such as jello jigglers and ice cubes. Needless to say, my nails were bound to get affected...
So, I tried the very popular pin on Pinterest: Crackle Hearts. I have quite a bit of crackle nail polish, but never really use it, so I thought this would be a great try. However, I didn't have a heart punch small enough for my nails, so I had to cut hearts on slips of paper... This undoubtedly made the task more difficult, plus they didn't turn out as cute. :(

My NP Wish List
Am I the only one is in complete envy of the cool nail polishes that are coming out lately? I can't walk into a store without seeing something I want. Plus, it takes every ounce of my will power not to spend my entire paycheck on nail polish... So, I'll just share some of my wishlist nail polishes :D
The Liquid Sand Collection
I want them all! My nails would look super cute in any of those colors, plus the cool texture? Sign me up!
The Moon Candy Collection
Every time I go to the store and finally find the rack, its empty! Can you believe that? These are so adorable I want to try them, especially the blue one. Anyways, it upsets me that I can't even look at them in person at the freaking store...
Step 2 the Beat of my Heart-Nicole by OPI
First off, I cannot stand Justin Bieber. However, this nail polish is a need... It would be absolutely perfect for the upcoming Valentine's Day or any day you need a little touch of hearts & love. I just worry if it would be as much as a pain as Wet n Wild's Hollywood Walk of Fame?
Flipping Out Hard-NailPatternBoldness
I found this crazy awesome nail polish on etsy and am so tempted to buy it. It looks wicked cool and I just wish money was in the bank for this polish...
Don't Teal Anyone-KB Shimmer
I love KBShimmer and it is extremely difficult not to fall in love with all of her amazing nail polishes. This nail polish is another one I desperately want.

My Head is in the Stars...
My boyfriend bought me the coolest nail polish. I wasn't sure how the nail polish would work out, but it looked cool in the bottle, so I HAD to try it... I started with a layer of black then added the star overcoat on top. At first, I wasn't satisfied with the amount of stars I got on each nail (I was lucky if I got one), so it took quite a bit of planning and shaking of the bottle to get stars. Overall, I loved how it turned out, regardless of how tricky it was.

Au Natural
So, with my nail polish obsession, I've decided that I would show everyone what my nails look like without the polish... So, I hope you are ready for this...
As you can see, I have the still evident pink spots from my candy nails(they dyed my nails a polka dot pink). I feel like my nails are naked without nail polish, and if you were to see me without nail polish, it sure is a rare occurrence...

Splatter Nails
Since I got a bit lazy, I didn't do anything special to my nails for a good week. So, I was determined to do something...the problem was what... After a good fifteen minutes of thinking, I decided to so splatter nails. I've always thought these look super neat, but actually doing them? Another story...
A straw, something to clean up the mess and nail polish. Sounds simple right? Not exactly... You really have to "paint" the nail polish inside of the straw and be very careful where you aim(I got nail polish on my phone...). Your fingers WILL be messy, but a little clean up with remover and your nails look awesome! I think this is probably my favorite design/style so far of nail design(plus how cool would it look with red droplets like blood for Halloween?!?)
