Wishlist!

It's that time again! Wishlist time!

In the past, I have always adored The Muppets collection of nail polishes. I think they are great. Plus, it doesn't hurt the OPI makes them... But the one I'm really crushing on is "Gaining Mole-Mentum." It's just too perfect. I would use that stuff up!

I'm a huge fan of KBshimmer. I think everyone else should love their nail polish as much as I do... I really love the look of "She Twerks Out." Its supposed to be a textured glitter that has a matte feel. I dont have many blues(I probably should get more) and have you seen the name?!? AWESOME!

Looking at my various shades of nail polish, I've realized that I don't have a pretty brown. I really could go for a chocolate brown nail polish. I know, that doesn't sound super appeasing, but think of all the uses! Thanksgiving designs, football and more! With fall around the corner, I think I need to get on that...

Nail Caviar

While at the store one day while I was pregnant, I came across a nail caviar kit. I was a little skeptical at first, since my experience with the candy nails did not go so well...but I figured it was worth a try, since it was such a great deal!

After following the directions, I got results similar to sprinkles mani. Sadly, I should have went with my instincts and left the kit sitting on the store shelf. The bead, or whatever you would like to call them, kept falling off and it was impossible to get them to stay where you wanted them to. It took at least two washes and multiple vacuuming instances to get them all out of my bed. On the plus side, I did not have stained nails for weeks later...

Acid Wash Mani

I absolutely love the look of the acid wash mani. So, I decided to try my own. I decided to go with a navy blue and white. I began with a coat of white and let it dry. Then came the blue. After that was all dry, I took a q-tip with some polish remover and rolled it on, creating an acid look. It turned out pretty good and even matched one of my shirts!

If I were to do it again, I would go with the color on bottom and whit on top. I think it would have looked more natural if I did so.

Kitties!

I've admired the kitty design for so long and have decided to finally try it! It took a little testing to make the kitties the way I wanted them too, but one I got one I loved, the rest went really well. On top of that, it wasn't too difficult to create the cat look. I started off with my base coat (Blackheart's Pastel Green). I then did a strip of black to become my cat head. I then drew two little triangles for the ears. Once dry, I added on white details, such as eyes, nose, whiskers and ear characteristics.

Black & Yellow

No, I am not a Steelers fan. Sorry. However, I do love the colors black and yellow together. I used to avoid this color combination like the plague, but I love to flaunt it now. On my ring finger, I began with a layer of black. After drying, I used scotch tape to add my stripes, alternating colors. On the remainder of my fingers, I started with a base of black polish and added an overcoat of silver glitter. I really wanted to give it a starry effect.

We should play checkers...or race...

During the Olympics in Sochi, I was feeling a need to show off my nails. Since I was feeling a little lazy and busy, I decided to use Sally Hansen nail strips. I love this design because of what it makes me think off. It reminds me of a chess or checkers board, a finish line and floor tile.

After finishing my nails, I was looking at the strips and realized that one of the sizes fit my bog toe! How awesome is that? A mani & pedi in one (almost). I put the largest strip on my big toe and added black nail polish to the rest of my toes. It looked great. I am definitely doing that again!

Nail Stamping...

I have heard quite a buzz about nail stamping; both good and bad things. At one of my favorite stores, Five Below, I found the Salon Express kit for only $5 and decided to try it. After using the nail stamping system for the first time, I have to say I have mild feelings about it. I love that it makes designs easier and more "crisp" but am overwhelmed. I was confused when I first tried using it and ended up using a lot, and I mean a lot, of remover.

I started off simple with a simple heart. I wouldn't dare try the full nail animal print (at least not yet!). I am pretty pleased about the results though. Maybe next time, I will get a little more adventurous...

Animal Prints: Giraffe

I was feeling a bit lazy the other day, but still wanted my nails to look adorable. So, I decided to apply the nail polish strips I got from Five Below. If you have never been there, it is a supped up dollar store, where everything is $5 or less. It pretty much is awesome.

Anyways, I have been loving the animal prints lately, so here are my nails in Sally Hansen's Queen of the Jungle...

I've used these strips before and love them. They take a little bit of patience to find the right size, but are adorable and last a long time! I definitely recommend!!!!!
